What Happens Next?

At your appointment you will be asked a few simple questions to ascertain the level of support needed, and determine your suitability for our accommodation. If we feel that our services are not appropriate for your needs we will provide suitable information, and refer you to other organisations. Any paperwork confirming your right to remain in the UK, benefits letters, travel documents, any other proof of identification, or letter of referral, assists greatly in completing the application process.

Usually, accommodation is available within days. However, should you request a specific area then it may take a while longer.

When suitable accommodation is available, we will contact you, usually by telephone, and accompany you to view the accommodation.

Should you determine the accommodation is not suitable for you we may be able to offer an alternative. However, please be aware that many seek our accommodation, and although we will do our best to meet your requests, we cannot always state when and where certain areas may become available.

Should you accept an offer you will be able to move in once proof of income is obtained, a needs assessment completed, signing of necessary paperwork, and with more information about Astonbrook and your support officer. If you are on benefits we give you a letter requesting proof of income that you take to the local Job Centre. This whole procedure of viewing, accepting, and obtaining proof of income, is usually completed in a day at the most. We attempt to make the process as smooth and stress free as possible.
